About Us
The Asian-Australasian Association of Palaeoanthropologists (AAAP) is the first professional association of its kind to be established in the region. It was established in 2009 to provide an international academic organisation for professional researchers and postgraduate students working in the broad field of palaeoanthropology, and allied areas, with a geographical focus on Asia and Australasia.

AAAP exists to:
—Provide a professional network for the exchange of ideas, research developments, news and information.
Strengthen professional relationships and cultural understanding among palaeoanthropologists and allied researchers in the Asian-Australasian region.
Promote cross-disciplinary collaboration within the region.
Facilitate skills transfer and to help support research in regions with limited capacity and infrastructure.
Promote the value of science and the benefits of a career in science (especially palaeoanthropology) to the broader community.
Provide a public voice for palaeoanthropologists in the region to engage with other professional scientific associations, the media, government, multinational organisations and broader society.
